Are you a victim? Do you suffer from victim mentality as you walk the road to success? You are probably saying absolutely not! What I have discovered is there a lot more individuals who are truly living victim lives because they consistently live with these 1 or more 3 sins of victim mentality.
Sin #1 – Self-Imposed Limitations Through Poor Attitudes
How many times have you heard I can’t do that or that is just way too hard? These are habits of thought or self imposed limitations that restrict your potential. Those who suffer from victim mentality have these thoughts. Again, you are expecting someone else or something else to help you change your life instead of picking up your bootstraps and going forward as you continue to master success.
Sin #2 – No Self Leadership Skills
Do you have decision making challenges such as prioritization? Or maybe you are a poor communicator? The lack of strong interpersonal skills which also include work ethics promote victim mentality. You are essentially allowing “what is, is” to take control of your life. Again, the control has been removed and you believe in the hands of someone else.
Sin #3 – No Action Plan
Without an action plan, you have put yourself into the role of victim. For you are no longer in control of your life, but rather you are on someone else’s plan. From my experiences, over 90% of the people whether as small business owners, real estate agents, financial advisors, new car salesmen, entrepreneurs or executives I meet have no WRITTEN personal growth action plan for their lives. Yet, these same people understand the value of a simple written grocery list.
Why would you not place more value in your ENTIRE destiny than a trip to the grocery store? This victim thinking truly amazes me. And these same people believe that they are not victims as they stumble along the road to success.
We unfortunately now live in a society where Victim Mentality is being experienced by almost everyone. From individuals who do not want to work for a living to young people who expect to be a vice-president or make $70,000 1 year after graduating college. Our goals are now to be achieved by someone else, but we will take credit for being able to master success.
To be a victim or not to be a victim, the choice is yours. Just remember to avoid these 3 sins and you may be surprise how much easier it is to master success.
